Overview
Schluter DITRA separates tile from movement in the substrate while providing load support, vapor management, and a waterproof polyethylene layer. Its 1/8-inch profile keeps the floor buildup relatively low. Choose a 54, 150, or 323 sq. ft. roll based on the area to be covered and the cutting allowance.

Use beneath interior ceramic or stone tile over a substrate covered by the applicable DITRA installation detail.
Plan Your Installation
- Identify the substrate and tile type before choosing the DITRA installation detail. Ceramic-tile and natural-stone wood-floor requirements are not interchangeable.
- Compare the 54, 150 and 323 sq. ft. rolls against the room layout and cutting allowance, then check the 1/8-inch membrane thickness in the floor-height calculation.
- If the floor needs waterproofing, include the specified seam, perimeter and penetration connections with the membrane order.
Common Planning Questions
Does uncoupling mean I can ignore the subfloor construction?
No. DITRA still requires a suitable substrate built to the applicable installation detail.
Is DITRA the heating membrane?
No. Standard DITRA is the uncoupling membrane. DITRA-HEAT is the distinct studded membrane used to receive its heating cable.
