Description
Overview
Schluter DITRA-HEAT-PS uses a pressure-sensitive adhesive backing to install the heating membrane without a mortar layer underneath. Peel off the release film, position the sheet, and apply the required pressure to bond it. The stud structure accepts DITRA-HEAT cable, combining a customized heated area with uncoupling and load support.
Features
- Adhesive-backed membrane reduces mixing and cleanup beneath the mat.
- Can be repositioned before firm pressure is applied.
- Cable snaps into the stud layout.
- Sheet and roll selections accommodate different room sizes.
What's Included
- DITRA-HEAT-PS membrane in the selected 8.4 sq. ft. sheet or 134.5 sq. ft. roll
- DITRA-HEAT-E-HK cable and controls are selected separately

Applications
Use on a substrate approved for the peel-and-stick heating-membrane system.
Plan Your Installation
- Choose sheet or roll format from the room layout, then prepare the substrate specifically for the pressure-sensitive backing.
- Lay out the membrane separately from the cable path: membrane area and heated area are not the same quantity.
- For a waterproof assembly or an alternate floor covering, confirm the approved PS detail before installation instead of carrying over every mortar-bonded detail.
- Where ANSI A118.10 waterproofing is required, follow Schluter’s specified thin-set DITRA-HEAT/DUO assembly or KERDI-over-PS detail; do not assume the adhesive-backed sheet alone meets that requirement.
Common Planning Questions
What does peel-and-stick replace?
It replaces the mortar bond beneath the membrane; it does not replace the setting material above it.
Can I order the cable solely from membrane square footage?
No. Exclude fixed fixtures and other unheated areas when selecting the cable.
