Overview
LATICRETE LHT is a polymer-modified mortar for setting large-format ceramic, porcelain, marble and stone on floors. Its large-and-heavy-tile formulation supports heavier pieces and permits a bonding bed up to 3/4 in. without the shrinkage associated with using an unsuitable mortar too thick.

Applications
Use as a floor-tile bonding mortar over properly prepared concrete, concrete or brick masonry, mortar beds, cement plaster, cement terrazzo, existing ceramic tile or stone, and approved cement backer board. The linked data sheet also lists HYDRO BAN Board and properly prepared resilient tile or non-water-soluble cutback adhesive.
Plan Your Installation
- Choose white for light-colored marble or stone. Use the manufacturer’s recommended specialty adhesive for water-sensitive stone, green marble and resin-backed materials.
- Flatten the substrate before tile setting. LHT is not a repair mortar or a substitute for a floor-leveling underlayment.
- Follow substrate and backer-board requirements, including exterior-use suitability. Do not bond directly to particleboard, luan, Masonite or hardwood.
Common Planning Questions
Is this a thick-bed mortar for building a mortar bed?
No. It is a tile-setting mortar with a specified bonding-bed thickness, not a conventional mortar-bed or concrete-repair product.
