Overview
LATICRETE 4-XLT Rapid is a fast-setting, polymer-fortified mortar for large-format tile. It combines non-sag wall-setting performance with large-and-heavy-tile and thin-set floor use, making it useful where an earlier grouting schedule is important.

Applications
Use on suitable cement backer board, existing ceramic tile or stone, concrete, concrete block and concrete/brick masonry. Exterior-glue plywood is limited to interior use; select gypsum-wallboard assemblies only where appropriate to that substrate.
Plan Your Installation
- Plan tile placement and cleanup around the rapid-setting working window; do not substitute the schedule of standard 4-XLT.
- Prepare a flat substrate and choose the trowel and bed thickness for the tile and required coverage.
- Do not apply directly to OSB, particleboard, luan, Masonite or hardwood.
Common Planning Questions
Does rapid setting remove the need for substrate preparation?
No. Early grouting is a scheduling benefit, not a substitute for a suitable, properly prepared base.
