Overview
LATICRETE HYDRO BARRIER Plus is a liquid-applied waterproofing and crack-isolation membrane for tile assemblies. The self-curing rubber polymer forms a thin, flexible layer on horizontal or vertical surfaces, without reinforcing fabric in the field, coves or corners. A light-to-dark-blue color change helps installers check curing and application coverage.

- Protects against shrinkage and other non-structural cracks up to 1/8 in. (3 mm).
- Fabric-free waterproofing application when installed to the product instructions.
- Microban antimicrobial technology protects the membrane from stain- and odor-causing microbes; it does not replace cleaning.

Applications
Use beneath tile in showers, tub surrounds, bathrooms, laundries, kitchens, swimming pools, fountains and other listed interior or exterior wet areas. The data sheet also covers terraces and balconies over unoccupied spaces. Steam rooms require a separate vapor barrier.
Plan Your Installation
- Confirm the substrate and its preparation in the data sheet. Do not apply directly to OSB, particleboard, luan, Masonite or hardwood.
- Apply the specified membrane thickness throughout the assembly, including transitions and penetrations. Coverage estimates do not replace thickness checks.
- Let the membrane cure fully and flood-test before applying tile or stone.
- Protect the membrane and cover it with the specified traffic-bearing finish; it is not an exposed wear surface.
Common Planning Questions
Will it bridge structural movement?
No. Do not use over dynamic expansion joints, structural cracks, vertically displaced cracks or cracks wider than 1/8 in.
Can it serve as a roof or vapor barrier?
No. It is not a primary roofing membrane over occupied space and must not be used as a vapor barrier.
