Overview
HYDRO BAN XP is a single-component liquid waterproofing and crack-isolation membrane for tile assemblies, including specified steam-room installations. It can cure on substrates as cool as 35Ā°F and changes from sage green to dark olive green as it cures, helping installers inspect coverage and readiness.

Applications
Use in interior or exterior showers, steam showers/rooms, bathrooms, laundries, kitchens, food-processing areas, pools, fountains, spas, countertops and facades. Terrace and balcony applications are limited to spaces over unoccupied areas; this is not a primary roof membrane over occupied space.
Plan Your Installation
- Apply the specified two coats and thickness; repair pinholes or thin spots before covering.
- Flood-test timing begins after the final coat has fully cured and changed color: typically 2 additional hours at 70Ā°F and 50% RH; at 35ā69Ā°F, allow 24 hours after final cure. Cold or humid conditions may require longer.
- Flood-test before tiling. Do not interpret the 2-hour statement as permission to test two hours after starting application.
- Do not bond directly to OSB, particleboard, interior-glue plywood, luan, Masonite or hardwood.
Common Planning Questions
Can the color change alone establish flood-test readiness?
No. Observe the additional temperature-dependent waiting period after final cure, and follow the full data-sheet instructions.
