HYDRO BAN Preformed Niches create recessed, tile-ready storage or decorative wall details. Their high-density expanded-polystyrene body is lightweight and factory waterproofed. Choose a single opening, combo configuration or taller Mega niche to suit the intended storage and framing layout.

Applications
Use for shower niches, tub surrounds and decorative wall features in suitable interior or exterior assemblies. The niche’s factory coating must be connected correctly to the surrounding wall waterproofing.
Plan Your Installation
- Check the complete flange and body dimensions before cutting the wall; the nominal opening size is not the rough-opening size.
- Choose the opening height and combo arrangement around the items to be stored and the finished tile layout.
- Support and bond the niche as instructed, and seal the niche-to-backer-board joints using the specified detail.
- Repair any punctured waterproof coating before installing the tile or stone finish.
Common Planning Questions
Does factory waterproofing eliminate joint treatment?
No. The body is pre-waterproofed, but connections to the surrounding wall still require the manufacturer’s waterproofing detail.
