Overview
HYDRO BAN Quick Cure is a ready-to-use, liquid waterproofing membrane for tile and stone assemblies where a short flood-test schedule matters. Its wet-cure technology supports curing in damp, humid or cold conditions within the permitted application range. At 70Ā°F or above, the specified two-coat sequence can allow flood testing approximately 30 minutes from the start of application.

Applications
Use in specified interior or exterior waterproofed tile assemblies, including shower pans, tub surrounds, bathrooms, laundries, pools, fountains, kitchens and countertops. The data sheet also permits terraces and balconies over unoccupied spacesānot use as the primary roof membrane over occupied rooms.
Plan Your Installation
- Prepare the approved substrate and pretreat seams, transitions and stable non-structural cracks as directed. Exterior-glue plywood is limited to appropriate interior assemblies.
- Apply two coats and check coverage/thickness with a wet-film gauge. The current instructions permit the second coat after 15 minutes and require it within one hour.
- Inspect for pinholes and repair defects before flood testing. At temperatures below 70Ā°F, allow the stated additional 15 minutes for each 10Ā°F drop.
- For submerged work, waterproof the continuous required assembly; coating only a pool waterline is not sufficient.
- Do not use over structural or vertically displaced cracks, in steam rooms, on exterior facades, or beneath self-leveling underlayments/decorative wear surfaces. Cover with the required traffic-bearing finish.
Common Planning Questions
Does damp-condition curing permit application at any temperature?
No. Stay within 40ā90Ā°F and adjust cure time for lower temperatures.
Is the 0.012 in. waterproofing thickness the same as the crack-isolation detail?
No. The stated 1/16 in. crack-isolation performance requires the separate 30-mil application detail. Follow the complete instructions for the intended function.
