Overview
HYDRO BAN Cementitious Waterproofing Membrane is a one-component, polymer-fortified cement waterproofing powder mixed with water. It is intended for wet-area walls and floors, including pool and water-feature assemblies, and can resist both positive and negative hydrostatic pressure when applied at the specified thickness.

Applications
Use in interior or exterior swimming pools, fountains, water features, spas, hot tubs and balconies or terraces over unoccupied space. The required construction detail determines whether reinforcing mesh or fabric is needed.
Plan Your Installation
- Distinguish waterproofing from crack isolation: mesh/fabric is required for the stated 1/8 in. crack-isolation performance.
- Provide the full 40-mil thickness for the listed coverage and pressure rating.
- Concrete, concrete/brick masonry, mortar beds and cement plaster are listed substrates. Existing tile/stone and cement terrazzo require a latex-thin-set skim coat.
- Gypsum wallboard and poured gypsum underlayments are interior-only; follow the listed TCNA methods for gypsum and the backer-board manufacturerās exterior-use requirements.
Common Planning Questions
Is it always fabric-free?
No. Follow the complete instructions for gaps and transitions, and use mesh/fabric where required for crack isolation. The fabric-free statement must not be applied to every detail.
