Overview
FRACTURE BAN 40 is a thin peel-and-stick membrane combining anti-fracture and acoustical-underlayment functions beneath suitable hard-surface flooring. Its reinforced, pliable sheet has a white nonwoven face for visible chalk lines and a release liner over the adhesive backing.

Applications
Use beneath compatible thin-set tile or stone assemblies in suitable homes, apartments, hotels, offices, hospitals and retail spaces. Listed bases include prepared concrete, mortar beds, interior exterior-glue plywood, OSB, approved gypsum, existing tile/stone, terrazzo, backer board and specified resilient flooring.
Plan Your Installation
- Prime interior installations with the specified FRACTURE BAN Primer or Primer Plus procedure. Exterior FRACTURE BAN 40 details require the specified epoxy primer/coating, including VAPOR BAN Primer ER—not the ordinary interior primer.
- Cut the sheet 6–8 in. long for trimming, peel the liner while smoothing onto the primed surface, remove air pockets and butt subsequent roll edges.
- Wet-area details require the specified epoxy primer; do not use submerged or substitute the membrane for waterproofing.
- Check stone/moisture sensitivity and mortar buildup limits. Do not assume the sheet can correct structural or vertical movement.
