Description
Overview
LATICRETE 9235 is a liquid-rubber and reinforcing-fabric waterproofing system for tile, stone and brick assemblies. The cold-applied membrane creates a thin, flexible, load-bearing layer for wet areas and continuous water submersion. Select carefully: the liquid-only pail and the liquid-plus-fabric kits have different contents.
Features
- Brush or long-nap roller application without special mixing equipment.
- Microban protects against stain-causing microbes in the membrane.
- Solvent-free, non-flammable; water cleanup while fresh.
- Direct installation of tile, brick or stone onto the cured membrane.
- Protects concrete and reinforcing steel from corrosion.

Applications
Use for interior or exterior showers, pools, fountains, spas, bathrooms, laundries, kitchens, countertops and facades, plus terraces and balconies over unoccupied spaces. Suitable horizontal and vertical details include ceilings. Steam rooms require a separate vapor barrier.
Plan Your Installation
- Order both liquid and required reinforcing fabric. Choose a kit if you need the listed fabric supplied with the liquid.
- Follow the substrate-specific preparation for concrete, mortar beds, cement plaster, masonry, backer board, terrazzo, existing tile/stone or approved leveling/patching compounds. Plywood and gypsum details require their stated interior restrictions.
- Do not use over expansion joints, structural or vertically moving cracks, or cracks wider than 1/8 in.
- Allow wet mortars to cure as directed before applying 9235. It is not a primary roof membrane or a vapor barrier.
Common Planning Questions
