Overview
LATICRETE 252 Silver is a polymer-modified cementitious thin-set powder for ceramic tile, porcelain and stone. Mixed only with water, it offers an economical setting mortar for appropriate interior and exterior wall and floor assemblies.

Applications
Use on concrete, mortar beds, existing tile/stone, masonry, cement plaster and terrazzo. Gypsum wallboard, exterior-glue plywood, properly prepared vinyl tile and non-water-soluble cutback are interior-only; cement backer board requires its manufacturer’s preparation and exterior-use approval.
Plan Your Installation
- Add powder to clean potable water in a clean pail and mix by hand or slow-speed mixer. Slake and remix; stir occasionally during use but do not retemper with water.
- Key mortar into the surface with the flat trowel side, then comb with an appropriate notch. Spread only what can be tiled within the listed 15–20 minute interval.
- Back-butter tile larger than 8 x 8 in. as the installation instructions specify, bed into wet sticky mortar and periodically lift tile to verify transfer. Use a beating block and rubber mallet as appropriate for embedding and leveling.
- Remove and replace skinned mortar. Trowel size, tile and substrate conditions affect yield and bedding.
