Overview
LATICRETE 226 Thick Bed Mortar is a factory blend of portland cement and graded aggregates for conventional mortar-bed, plaster and repair work. Mix it with 3701 Mortar Admix to create the specified high-strength latex portland-cement mortar; the powder is not the same product as water-mixed 3701 Fortified Mortar Bed.

Applications
Use with the specified admixture for thick cement mortar beds, cement plaster and concrete repair. Suitable assemblies include concrete, masonry, mortar beds, plaster, terrazzo, tile/stone and approved backer board. Plywood requires an interior reinforced bed over a cleavage membrane, minimum 2 in. thick.
Plan Your Installation
- Use the mixing ratio for the task: floor beds, wall renders and repairs do not share an identical liquid quantity.
- Provide the slurry bond coat where the bonded-bed or repair detail requires it.
- Plan waterproofing separately for wet assemblies and follow the separate setting-material requirements for moisture-sensitive stone.
