Overview
125 TRI MAX combines tile-setting mortar with sound isolation and crack prevention in one interior installation layer. This lightweight, fiber-reinforced gray mortar mixes with water and can replace a separate sound/crack mat where the specified assembly supports that approach.

Applications
Use for appropriate interior tile/stone floors in apartments, condos, dormitories, classrooms and offices where sound reduction is part of the design. Approved substrates include concrete, mortar beds, masonry, backer board, terrazzo, existing tile/stone, specified gypsum underlayments and exterior-glue plywood.
Plan Your Installation
- Sound ratings belong to tested assemblies, not the bag alone; use the specified trowel, back-buttering and perimeter isolation detail.
- Do not use outdoors, submerged or in steam rooms, or directly over OSB, particleboard, luan, Masonite or hardwood.
- Prepare flat surfaces separately: this mortar is not a floor-repair/leveling compound or waterproofing membrane.
- Check concrete moisture limits and test light stone for darkening; use the specified epoxy for moisture-sensitive material.
Common Planning Questions
Does it eliminate every separate membrane?
No. It can combine the specified sound/crack functions with setting mortar, but does not replace required waterproofing or other assembly-specific layers.
