Description
Overview
RedGard Uncoupling Mat separates suitable tile assemblies from substrate stresses while providing a fleece bonding surface for polymer-modified mortar. The manufacturer specifies this full roll as 1 meter × 30 meters, approximately 323 square feet.
Features
- Reinforced fleece anchors the mortar without mechanical fasteners.
- Can provide waterproofing when seams and transitions are completed under the specified details.
- Made with 70% pre-consumer recycled material by weight.
What's Included
- One 1-meter × 30-meter roll of RedGard Uncoupling Mat.
Specifications
- Full-roll dimensions: 1 m × 30 m, approximately 39.4 in. × 98.4 ft.
- Nominal roll coverage: Approximately 323 sq. ft.
- Minimum tile size: 2 in. for normal foot traffic; heavier point loads need appropriate larger, durable tile
- Setting material: Compatible polymer-modified thin-set mortar

Applications
Use as an uncoupling layer beneath suitable tile and stone floors, including approved young-concrete and wood-subfloor assemblies. It can replace backerboard or a second plywood layer only where the manufacturer’s particular tile assembly permits that substitution.
Selection and Use
- Measure the actual roll width and allow material for the planned layout. The full roll is approximately 39.4 inches wide.
- Treat seams, wall transitions and other details as instructed when waterproofing is required; simply placing adjoining mat sheets does not complete a waterproof assembly.
- Natural stone may require additional plywood and stricter deflection control. Do not treat the mat as structural reinforcement or a repair for vertical movement.
- Contact CUSTOM for radiant heating, exterior decks, post-tensioned concrete or other special substrates. Do not leave the mat as an exposed wear surface.
