Overview
LATICRETE Tile & Drain Mat is the subsurface drainage component of the Plaza and Deck System. Loose-laid over the specified primary roof membrane, it allows infiltrated water to move laterally toward drains while supporting load transfer through the complete tile assembly.

Applications
Use in the specified Plaza and Deck assembly for new or renovated plazas, balconies, walkways, exposed decks, terraces and courtyards. Suitable concrete or exterior-glue plywood deck structures require an installed primary roof waterproofing membrane.
Plan Your Installation
- Provide the required structural capacity and drainage pitch; the cited conventional gravel-bed load is 50 lb per sq. ft. for comparison.
- Install and flood-test the primary membrane first, then loose-lay the mat with open cups facing up.
- Interlock adjoining sheets in the permitted direction and protect the membrane while trimming. Protect/temporarily weight exposed mat against damage and wind.
- Follow the reinforced mortar-bed, waterproofing, setting and movement-joint details for the complete assembly; the mat alone is not a finished walking surface.
Common Planning Questions
Is this roll a complete Plaza and Deck kit?
No. It is the drainage mat; the primary membrane, reinforced bed, tile-setting materials and finish are separate system components.
