Overview
Silco Sil-Bond RTV 4500 is a high-strength, one-part silicone sealant and adhesive for construction and industrial joints. The acetoxy formula cures at room temperature and provides UV-stable, waterproof and airtight bonds when fully cured.

Applications
RTV 4500 is intended for sealing and glazing, HVAC/R, plumbing, roofing, kitchen and bath joints, countertops and sanitary seals. Other listed uses include precast concrete, transportation seals, marine cabins and appliance trim.
Selection and Use
- Evaluate adhesion to the actual substrate; the technical sheet lists metal, steel, tile, fiberglass, ceramic, glass, aluminum, painted surfaces, wood, plywood and marble.
- Choose the needed cartridge color before ordering.
- Do not equate surface skinning with a full-depth cure. The linked sheet gives a typical 1/8 in. per 24-hour cure rate at specified laboratory conditions; deeper joints require additional time.
- Use the cured service-temperature range for service planning, not as an application-temperature instruction.
