Use in tile and stone movement-joint details, masonry construction, and where ceramic tile meets glass or window framing. LATASIL resists pool chemicals, but wet-area preparation and curing requirements still apply.
Plan Your Installation
- Select the color and estimate quantity from the actual joint width and depth; coverage changes with joint dimensions.
- Test stone for staining or fluid migration before sealing the full installation.
- Use LATASIL 9118 Primer for porous stone and tile and wet-area applications as specified in the linked data sheet.
- Provide suitable backer rod for deeper joints and follow the sealant-joint design requirements.
Common Planning Questions
Can I paint over LATASIL?
No. The silicone cannot be painted; choose the desired finish color before application.
Can it be used as structural glazing adhesive?
No. It is a tile-and-stone sealant, not a structural glazing adhesive. Avoid locations subject to physical abuse or abrasion.
