Applications
Seal appropriate level, horizontal joints in concrete or cementitious slabs, including driveways, garage floors, sidewalks, terraces, balconies, warehouse floors, plazas and factory or civil-engineering surfaces. The joint must contain the flowing sealant; do not use it on a slope or in a vertical opening.
Selection and Use
- Follow the specified joint geometry, generally a 2:1 width-to-depth ratio within the allowable depth limits. Use suitable closed-cell backer rod or a bond breaker to prevent three-sided adhesion.
- Manufacturer directions permit new concrete after 24 hours of curing and previously wet concrete one hour after the water source stops, with no standing water and proper preparation.
- Do not apply over asphalt or bituminous material. Keep alcohol and incompatible solvents away during cure.
- Allow at least one week before immersion or painting and test coating compatibility. Immersion conditions, including the 5 ppm chlorine limit, must follow the data sheet; tack-free does not mean ready for every service exposure.
