Description
Overview
Schluter KERDI-BAND is a thin waterproofing strip for membrane seams and changes of plane. At 4 mil, it keeps overlapping connections flatter beneath the tile than multiple layers of thicker sheet material. Select the width and roll length for the joints, corners, and wall-to-floor connections in the project.

Plan Your Installation
- Measure the seams and floor/wall junctions separately from the main membrane area.
- Choose the band width for the specified connection and overlap detail, then select enough roll length for the total joint layout.
- Include inside/outside corners and pipe/valve penetrations in the waterproofing plan rather than expecting straight band alone to address every shape.
Common Planning Questions
Is KERDI-BAND a full-field waterproofing sheet?
It is the thinner sealing strip for seams and transitions, not the main wall/floor sheet.
Can it replace KERDI-FLEX at a movement joint?
Use the material and joint detail specified for that movement condition; ordinary seam sealing is not the same as a movement-joint connection.
