Overview
Protecto Wrap PW 100/40 is a 40 mil self-adhering air/vapor barrier and through-wall flashing membrane. Its cross-laminated high-density polyethylene face and polymer-modified asphalt adhesive form a fully bonded, non-permeable layer for properly designed wall-envelope and flashing details.

Applications
Use for non-permeable wall-envelope assemblies, through-wall flashing, window and door flashing, exterior-sheathing joints and wall penetrations. It is not recommended as a roofing membrane or for contact with PVC or EPDM roof coverings. Full-envelope use requires a designed wall assembly with the dew point located appropriately.
Selection and Use
- Start with clean, dry surfaces free of sharp projections and gaps. Prime porous, weathered or other substrates as directed; test adhesion and consult the manufacturer for cold-weather work.
- Form water-shedding laps. For full-wall work, use at least 2" side laps and 4" end laps and seal terminations with the specified compatible mastic or sealant.
- For windows, follow sill-side-head sequencing and firmly roll the membrane to eliminate wrinkles and air pockets. Integrate it with the building’s weather barrier.
- Avoid solvent-based products, uncured sealants, highly plasticized window flanges and resin-rich softwoods. Confirm compatibility with the window or door manufacturer before installation.
- Store unopened rolls dry at 40–90°F and use within one year for optimum initial adhesion. The 10-year limited warranty is subject to written terms.
