Overview

Protecto Wrap Protecto LM is a liquid-applied waterproofing membrane used for specified Protecto system details and compatible tile assemblies. The coating goes on blue and dries black, and it works with reinforcing fabric at seams and transitions to form a continuous waterproof detail.

Applications

Use for Protecto Deck flashing details, specified Whisper Mat CS waterproofing details, and approved AFM-WM shower-wall applications. Select the complete assembly from the manufacturer’s instructions; this is not blanket approval for every pool, steam room, exposed roof or submerged installation.

Selection and Use

• Apply on suitable clean, prepared substrates at 50–90°F and protect the installation from temperatures below 50°F for 48 hours. Do not use over negative hydrostatic pressure or excessive substrate moisture.
• Measure wet-film thickness and embed the specified reinforcing fabric in the wet first coat. Fully cover the fabric with the second coat and follow the required overlaps and detailing.
• The short dry-to-touch time is not the flood-test cure time. Wait at least 24 hours before flood testing; the linked LM instructions specify 2–4" of water for 24 hours.
• For warranty compliance, follow the required leak-free test documentation signed by the applicator/general contractor and submitted within 30 days.
• Do not use as a final wear surface or an occupied-roof membrane. Follow the linked data sheet for excluded substrates and the limit of 3 lb./1,000 sq. ft./24 hours substrate moisture emissions.
