Overview
LATICRETE TRI-LITE is a lightweight, tri-purpose mortar for large-and-heavy-tile, thin-bed and wall installations. Its non-sag consistency supports vertical work, while the 30 lb bag provides approximately the coverage of a conventional 50 lb mortar bag. Select gray or white for your tile or stone installation.

Applications
Use for floor and wall tile setting over suitable concrete, concrete block, brick and concrete masonry, cement terrazzo, existing ceramic tile and stone, cement backer board, STRATA_MAT and HYDRO BAN Board. Exterior-glue plywood is limited to interior use; gypsum wallboard is for appropriate interior applications.
Plan Your Installation
- Choose white for white or light-colored stone, as directed by LATICRETE. Check stone suitability before installing over wood floors.
- Prepare a flat substrate before setting tile: the mortar is not a floor-leveling or flattening material.
- Follow the backer-board or HYDRO BAN Board installation requirements as well as the mortar instructions.
- Do not use directly over OSB, interior-glue plywood, particleboard, luan, Masonite or hardwood.
Common Planning Questions
Can I use TRI-LITE in a swimming pool?
No. The linked data sheet excludes submerged applications and directs installers to 254 Platinum for that use.
Does the mortar waterproof the installation?
No. Where waterproofing is required, provide a suitable waterproofing membrane as part of the assembly.
