LATICRETE 254R Platinum Rapid is a fast-setting, polymer-fortified thin-set mixed with water. It is selected for demanding ceramic, porcelain or stone work where the specified 2ā4 hour grouting window helps the installation schedule.

Applications
Use for appropriate interior/exterior tile, stone, quarry tile, paver and brick assemblies on suitable concrete, masonry, block, mortar beds, terrazzo, existing ceramic tile or backer board. Exterior-glue plywood is interior-only; resilient tile, cutback, gypsum and plastic-laminate details require their specific preparation and exposure limits.
Plan Your Installation
- Plan placement and cleanup around the rapid-setting work window. Do not apply the standard 254 Platinum schedule to 254R.
- Choose color for the tile or stone and confirm substrate preparation, particularly when bonding to an existing finish.
- For submerged work, use the full system curing requirements before filling; early grout readiness is not the same as readiness for immersion.

Does rapid grouting mean I can immediately fill a pool?
No. The complete installation must reach the specified service cure before submersion.
