Overview
SpeedSlope is a rapid-setting, polymer-modified mortar-bed and sloping mortar for shower pre-slopes, ramps and deep floor patches. The preblended 4:1 cement-based mix only needs water and can reach tile-setting hardness in approximately 1–2 hours under suitable conditions.

Applications
Use to form a slope beneath a compatible waterproofing membrane, create a shower mortar bed or patch and ramp suitable concrete and masonry. It is a shaping and bedding material, not the waterproofing layer or permanent exposed floor.
Selection and Use
- Plan small enough placements for the roughly 30-minute working time. A typical 3 × 5 ft. shower may use 5–6 bags, but depth and slope determine the actual quantity.
- Exterior-grade plywood requires the specified lath assembly and is limited to dry applications. Do not apply directly to unsuitable wood, gypsum or lightweight-concrete substrates.
- Compatible listed materials include RedGard, RedGard SpeedCoat and cement backerboard; follow each assembly’s bonding and waterproofing sequence.
- Tile readiness and traffic readiness are different. The technical sheet provides separate cure times, and moisture-sensitive finishes can require longer than the quick tile-setting window.
