Overview
VersaBond is an all-purpose polymer-modified thin-set mortar for standard floor and wall tile work. It provides good bond strength without an added latex liquid and is suited to a broad range of properly prepared substrates in approved interior and exterior installations.

Applications
Choose standard VersaBond for compatible tile-setting work where a conventional thin-set mortar is specified. Use the tile and substrate lists in Specifications as a starting point, then follow preparation requirements for existing surfaces and dry-area restrictions for wood and gypsum.
Selection and Use
- Do not use standard VersaBond for pools or water features. Select an approved submerged-service mortar instead.
- Resin-backed and moisture-sensitive stone require an appropriate epoxy mortar. For clear/translucent glass or glass larger than 6 Ć 6 in., obtain the specified product recommendation.
- Existing tile, bonded vinyl and laminate must receive the prescribed preparation. Do not bond directly to hardwood, particleboard, OSB, metal, fiberglass or plastic.
- Check contact beneath the tile and account for additional back-troweling material. Large stone also needs the appropriate subfloor-deflection design.
- Cold-climate performance is not a rapid-setting schedule: allow the stated cure and generally 7ā10 days before heavy traffic on a properly rated assembly.
