Overview
LATICRETE 3701 Mortar Admix is a latex mixing liquid for compatible thin-set mortars, cement grouts, mortar beds and other specified cement mixes. Used in place of water, it improves working properties, bond strength and flexibility. This is the liquid admixture, not the premixed 3701 Fortified Mortar Bed powder.

Applications
Use for interior or exterior ceramic tile, brick and natural-stone assemblies requiring a latex-fortified mix. Listed substrates include concrete, mortar beds, existing tile/stone, cement backer board, cement plaster, brick or concrete masonry and cement terrazzo; gypsum wallboard is interior-only.
Plan Your Installation
- Identify the powder being mixed and follow its instructions for using 3701 rather than water.
- Check the substrate, exposure and curing requirements of the complete mortar system, especially for submerged work.
- Do not confuse this admixture with 3701 Fortified Mortar Bed, which already contains polymer and is mixed with water.
Common Planning Questions
Can the liquid be used alone as a tile adhesive?
No. It is a mixing component for the specified cementitious material, not a stand-alone setting adhesive.
