Overview
SimpleSet is a premixed, ready-to-use tile adhesive sold as a no-mix alternative to traditional thin-set mortar. It is designed for smaller interior wall and floor tile, with gray quart and white gallon configurations on this page; it should not be substituted wherever a cement mortar is specified.
Features
- Ready to spread and set without adding water.
- For suitable ceramic, porcelain, mosaic, quarry tile and stone.
- Exceeds ANSI A136.1 Type I; use white for lighter-colored suitable tile and stone.

- Recommended tile: Up to 8 × 8 in.; one side up to 15 in. substantially increases drying
- 3/16 × 5/32 in. V-notch: Approximately 40–44 sq. ft. per gallon
- 1/4 in. square notch: Approximately 20–25 sq. ft. per gallon
- 1/4 × 3/8 × 1/4 in. square notch: Approximately 14–17 sq. ft. per gallon

Applications
Use SimpleSet for compatible interior tile installations, including appropriate tub surrounds and shower walls. Its convenience is most useful on small-format work where tile and substrate conditions permit the adhesive to dry.
Selection and Use
- Confirm the color-and-size combination in the selector; the quart and gallon are not offered in every color on this page.
- Do not use for shower floors, prolonged water exposure, steam, heating mats or coils, or attaching backerboard to a subfloor.
- Do not install over a waterproof membrane. Use a specified polymer-modified cement mortar where the assembly requires one.
- Do not set clear or translucent glass, ungauged stone or Saltillo pavers. Moisture-sensitive stone needs an appropriate epoxy setting material.
- Do not level the floor by applying excess adhesive. Coverage estimates exclude back-buttering and do not expand the 15-inch tile limit.
