Overview
This 27 lb bag is ARDEX 9 powder, the cement-based component of the ARDEX 8+9 waterproofing and crack-isolation system. It must be mixed with ARDEX 8 liquid; powder alone is not a ready-to-use waterproofing membrane.

Applications
Use to prepare the ARDEX 8+9 system for suitable shower, bathroom, kitchen and other tile-underlayment waterproofing work. The completed systemānot this powder by itselfāprovides the listed water and crack-isolation performance.
Selection and Use
- Order the required ARDEX 8 liquid separately. Do not mix with water or unapproved additives.
- Follow the 8+9 sheet for two-coat coverage, reinforcement, substrate preparation and thickness. Plan coverage for the mixed 27 lb commercial unit, allowing for the substrate and the required coats.
- Under reference conditions, the first coat dries in 30ā45 minutes and the final coat in approximately 60 minutes; tile only after drying. Allow at least four hours after the final coat before flood testing.
- Contact ARDEX for exterior or submerged applications. Not for roofing or primary exterior waterproofing over indoor spaces.
