Overview
USG Durock wood-framing screws use a coarse hi-lo thread, large wafer head and Recex Robertson/Phillips combination drive to fasten compatible tile backerboards and underlayments to wood. These are the wood-framing screws, not the separate self-drilling screws for steel studs.

Use for fastening the specified USG backerboard or underlayment to wood framing or subfloors. Select screw length for the panel and application rather than assuming both lengths cover every installation.
Selection and Use
- The linked table lists 1-1/4-inch wood screws for floors/countertops and walls with 1/4-, 3/8-, 1/2- or 5/8-inch board.
- It lists 1-5/8-inch wood screws for walls and ceilings with 1/2- or 5/8-inch board. Follow the complete assembly requirements.
- Drive screws straight with heads flush, not countersunk. Follow the specified edge distances and spacing.
- The 14–20-gauge steel-stud instructions in the family sheet apply to a different self-drilling screw, not this wood-screw selection.
