Overview
USG Durock Cement Board with EdgeGuard is a water-durable tile backer with reinforced edges that resist fastener spinout and crumbling. Choose the panel size and thickness for the assembly: the 1/4-inch panel is an interior underlayment, while the 1/2-inch panels serve additional approved wall and exterior applications.

Applications
Use as a tile base for floors, countertops, tub and shower areas, and approved wall or exterior finish systems. Water durability is different from waterproofing; add the specified waterproofing layer when the assembly requires it.
Selection and Use
- Do not use 1/4-inch board on walls or ceilings, or outdoors.
- Use the panel thickness, framing, fasteners and joint treatment specified for the selected assembly. Do not substitute drywall screws, drywall nails or drywall joint tape.
- The board is not a structural panel and is not intended for vinyl flooring, submerged use or exterior below-grade work.
- Store panels flat and do not install wet board. Follow the linked instructions for finishing, environmental conditions and cutting-dust precautions.
