Overview
Noble Preformed Shower Niches create a recessed, ready-to-tile storage area within a shower wall. The waterproof, acrylic-coated XPS body fits the specified 2 x 4 wall assembly with 1/2" backer board; choose the square, wide-combo or rectangular shelf configuration to suit the layout.

Applications
Use as a tiled shower-wall recess for bathing supplies. Check the wall cavity, finish layout and selected model’s outside dimensions before cutting. The niche body is waterproof, but the joint to the surrounding wall still requires the specified sealing and waterproofing detail.
Selection and Use
- Locate the recess, mark it level and cut the backer board to the niche outline. Follow the instructions for the stud and back-wall assembly.
- Adhere with the specified 100% silicone and seal the niche-to-backer-board joint; do not smear silicone over tile-bonding faces. Tape or waterproof the surrounding joints as instructed.
- For model 314, bond the adjustable shelf at the desired height with modified thin-set and allow it to cure before tiling.
- Install tile with compatible modified thin-set. Check exterior-wall insulation needs separately; the niche does not guarantee increased energy efficiency or a mold-free shower.
