The Makita BO5031K is a 5 in. variable-speed random-orbit sander supplied with a dust bag and tool case. Its 3-amp motor provides 4,000–12,000 orbits per minute, with a 1/8 in. orbit and a pad-control system for controlled startup.

Applications
For woodworking, finish carpentry and other sanding work using the appropriate abrasive grit. The speed dial lets you adjust the sanding action to the material and finishing stage.
Selection and Use
- Uses 5 in., eight-hole hook-and-loop abrasive discs on a 4-13/16 in. pad; pad size and abrasive size are not the same measurement.
- The through-pad dust collection connects to the supplied wide-mouth dust bag.
- The rubberized palm grip, dust-sealed switch and sealed ball bearings support regular shop or site use.
