Description
Overview
LATICRETE PRIME-N-BOND is a ready-to-use, aggregate-containing primer that improves the bond of mortars and self-leveling underlayments to difficult smooth or low-absorption surfaces. Its single-coat application is intended for interior preparation work, and the light color helps avoid darkening light-colored stone assemblies.
Features
- One-component polymer-and-silicate-aggregate formulation.
- Apply one coat with a roller or brush.
- Low VOC and low odor for interior work.
- Mechanical bond enhancement for mortars and suitable cement self-leveling products.
What's Included
- Either four 1-gallon pails or one 3.5-gallon pail, according to the selected Size.

Applications
Use on the listed interior substrates: steel-troweled, smooth or nonporous concrete; concrete with up to 20% fly ash; dry-shake hardeners; glass, quarry, glazed porcelain or ceramic tile; cement/epoxy terrazzo; cement-based agglomerates; glazed masonry; natural stone; exterior-glue plywood; vinyl flooring or VCT; plastic laminate counters; rigid fiberglass panels; epoxy coatings or poured epoxy floors; sheet moisture barriers; radiant-heated floors; and suitable well-bonded adhesive residue or cutback. Resin-backed tile/stone and agglomerate marble have additional limitations.
Plan Your Installation
- Check that the existing finish or adhesive residue is sound and that the complete primer-and-mortar combination is suitable for the assembly.
- For resin-backed tile and stone, preserve the stated interior/light-commercial limitation under ASTM C627; do not use in wet areas.
- Select the package deliberately: the 1-gallon option is a four-pack, while the other option is a 3.5-gallon pail.
Common Planning Questions
Is it a waterproofing membrane?
It is a bonding primer. Plan any required waterproofing separately rather than treating the primed surface as the waterproofing assembly.
