Overview

LATAPOXY 300 is a chemical-resistant epoxy setting adhesive supplied as a factory-proportioned resin, hardener and silica-filler kit. It is useful for moisture-sensitive stone and demanding tile installations where a water-based setting material may cause staining, darkening or warping.

    Applications

    Use in specified chemical-resistant commercial installations such as food-processing areas, kitchens and restaurants; for ceramic tile, marble or natural stone over post-tensioned and precast floor systems; and for listed rubber or wood-block flooring applications. It is also recommended for moisture-sensitive green, white and agglomerate marbles.

    Plan Your Installation

    • Match the installation to the listed substrates: concrete, masonry, mortar beds, cement plaster, terrazzo, existing tile/stone, approved backer board, steel, fiberglass and HYDRO BAN Board.
    • Exterior-glue plywood, non-water-soluble cutback, resilient tile, gypsum wallboard and plastic laminate are interior-only. Obtain LATICRETE guidance for exterior-use limitations.
    • Use all components in the specified proportions and select the trowel for the actual tile and coverage requirement.

    Common Planning Questions

    Can LATAPOXY 300 be used as grout or an exposed floor finish?

    No. It is an adhesive, not a grout or wear surface, and it does not replace a waterproofing membrane.

      only way to set large rolled marble mosaics

      Epoxy is wonderful. Epoxy appliance paint for tubs with toes, baseboard heaters, and appliances. Epoxy for repairing hail-damaged vinyl siding. And when beautiful mosaics arrive with a heavy glue consolidating its mesh, and thinset won't do, Latapoxy 300 Epoxy works beautifully. Just be sure to mix no more than you can handle at a time ... and work fast. We set down a ~7'x9' mosaidc that looked like something from Pompeii. The heavy roll had to be suspended from the ceiling by 4 chains, but it successfully unrolled down in the epoxy, and looks beautiful now in the sun room now.
