Overview
ARDEX P 51 is a concentrated, solvent-free primer for bonding compatible ARDEX underlayments and toppings to absorbent substrates. It seals the prepared surface and is diluted according to the substrate and receiving product.

- Standard absorbent concrete dilution: 1 part P 51 to 1 part water by volume
- Reference coverage: 400–600 sq. ft. per gallon at the stated 1:1 dilution
- Drying window: At least 30 minutes and no more than 24 hours under reference conditions

Applications
For priming properly prepared absorbent concrete before an appropriate ARDEX underlayment or topping. It is not a universal primer for nonporous tile, coatings or every type of wood subfloor.
Selection and Use
- Shake or stir first. Apply the prescribed dilution with a soft-bristled push broom; do not substitute a roller, mop or sprayer.
- Brush out puddles and let the primer dry to a clear film before proceeding.
- Highly absorbent concrete can require the specified two-step double-prime method. For wood, gypsum or non-water-soluble adhesive residue, use the receiving underlayment’s exact priming directions.
- Do not install below 50°F; cold or humid conditions extend drying.
