Applications
The manufacturer lists this screen family for hardwood-floor buffing between coats and intermediate or finish sanding. The required grit depends on the coating, substrate and stage of the floor-finishing process.
Selection and Use
- Use a mesh-screen driving pad between the buffer and screen, as directed by Virginia Abrasives.
- Confirm the buffer requires a 17-inch screen before ordering.
- Use coarser grades for greater cutting action and finer grades for refinement; 320 grit is not a guarantee of a mirror-polished surface.
- For limestone, travertine or concrete work, confirm the process with the surface or finishing-system supplier rather than assuming the hardwood procedure applies.
