Description
Overview
The Makita HR2641X1 package combines the 1 in. SDS-PLUS HR2641 AVT rotary hammer with a GA4530 4-1/2 in. angle grinder. The hammer’s 8-amp motor, three operating modes and counterbalance system provide a drilling and removal tool alongside the separate grinder.
Features
- AVT counterbalance and damper spring reduce vibration.
- Rubberized D-handle supports grip and control.
- Variable-speed trigger adjusts the hammer’s speed.
- Sequential impact timing reduces overlapping impacts.

Applications
Use the HR2641 for drilling concrete, wood or metal with the appropriate bit and mode, or for tile removal in chipping mode. Its compact D-handle design is also described for overhead drilling. The GA4530 is a separate tool for suitable grinding tasks, not an attachment to the hammer.
Selection and Use
- Choose rotation only, hammering with rotation or chipping according to the bit and material.
- The hammer accepts SDS-PLUS bits and has 40 chisel-angle positions; its torque-limiting clutch disengages if a bit binds.
- The recessed selector, retractable hook and no-hammering-at-idle function are features of the rotary hammer.
