Gemini Apollo Ring Saw

Description

Overview

The Gemini Apollo is a wet ring saw with removable blade cartridges for different cutting tasks: double-sided sintered blades for slicing and gentle curves, rigid blades for straight cutting, and wire blades for intricate omnidirectional shapes. Select both the voltage and blade package on this page.

Features

  • Removable cartridge system changes the blade setup without treating every blade as the same type.
  • Centerless ring design provides access for shaped cuts and slices.
  • Slide tray and magnetic angles support guided work.
  • 16-inch diagonal tile capacity; cutting thickness depends on the installed cartridge.

What's Included

  • Apollo Ring Saw in the selected voltage.
  • Slide tray and magnetic angle brackets.
  • Keel, two sets of felt pads (one attached) and four debris shields.
  • Operator’s manual.
  • Without Blade: no blade supplied; select a compatible blade/cartridge separately.
  • Standard or Fine package: selected double-sided sintered blade with cartridge assembly.
  • Standard & Fine package: a sintered cartridge assembly with Standard and Fine double-sided blades; not two complete cartridge assemblies.

Applications

Use the Apollo for material-appropriate cutting in tile, stone, marble, granite and glass. Compatible wire-blade setups also serve detailed work in nonferrous metals, acrylic and Plexiglas. The cartridge and blade grade—not the saw name alone—determine the suitable material and cutting action.

Selection and Use

  • Double-sided sintered: Standard is for stone and thick glass only; Fine suits stained glass, fused glass, glass tile and other glass work. These blades cut forward/backward and gentle curves.
  • Rigid: single-sided blade for aggressive straight slicing. Standard is 80 grit for stone and thick glass; Fine is 150 grit for glass.
  • Wire: the matching cartridge accepts Standard, Slim and Dichroic wire blades for omnidirectional detail. Taurus 3 wire blades require that Apollo cartridge.
  • Choose 110 V or 220 V to match the power supply. The Without Blade package requires a compatible blade/cartridge purchase before cutting.
  • Always operate in the water bath with water, and use eye protection. Follow the linked manual for cartridge installation, tray alignment and cleaning.
  • For narrow-radius work, consider the chosen blade’s shape and material thickness; the listed approximately 1/2-inch curve capability is not universal across all cartridges.

    Excellent Saw!

Everything about this purchase was excellent. Packaging was great and speed of delivery better than expected. The saw was not difficult to assemble and I have tried it out and had fine results. Have not changed the blades out yet but I don't anticipate any difficulty. With purchase from StoneTooling again!

    Wonderful Service from Lauren

I have 3 wholesale glass accounts and yet StoneTooling had better prices and fantastic customer one-on-one support. I had won an art grant to buy an Apollo saw and needed to get the best deal. Lauren helped me enormously. She was professional, knew the products, and, even after 3 phone calls from me, remained patient. This coming year when I add the grinder/polisher to this equipment, it will be ordered from you. Everything arrived so quickly, I have only had time to unwrap it all and make sure everything was there. Was preparing for a 2-day art show and haven't had time to put it all together yet. Your company is a true class act and has my business from now on.

    Cuts Nicely

Pros: Cuts very smoothly and faster than I expected Cons: I hate the fact that the sliding table is black (difficult to see cut lines) and that the rubbery surface plus the H2O causes the glass to suction itself to the table instead of sliding smoothly as I try to move it.
