Applications
Use as specified reinforcement in Portland-cement mortar beds or as backing for plaster behind tile, stone and brick veneer. Listed locations include interior floors, countertops, exterior walls and wet-area tile assemblies.
Selection and Use
- Match the mesh and fastening to the complete mortar or plaster assembly; furring helps embed the wire but does not provide waterproofing.
- For showers, tub surrounds, fountains, steam rooms or roof-deck work, use the assembly’s separate membrane and reinforcement requirements.
- The original catalog also identifies stairs, soffits and insulated-room assemblies. Verify the current project detail and code requirements rather than treating a material listing as approval for every assembly.
