Description
Overview
MLT reusable caps are the upper clamping component in the Mechanical Lippage Tuning system. Used with compatible straps and the appropriate base plates, they hold adjacent tile faces in alignment while the setting material cures.
Features
- Caps can be disengaged under tension with the system’s lateral-release arrangement for joint cleaning or repositioning.
- Top slot accepts a stainless-steel tongue insert to help extend cap life when the ratcheting area wears.
- Optional rubber feet cushion contact with delicate stone finishes.
What's Included
- 125 × reusable MLT caps
Specifications
- Quantity: 125 caps per box
- Component: Reusable leveling cap
- System: MLT Mechanical Lippage Tuning
Applications
Use with an MLT assembly selected for porcelain, thin tile, stone or offset layouts. Base-plate selection—not the cap alone—determines the arrangement beneath the tile. Compatible base plates do not require pre-soaking and are designed to allow mortar contact.
Selection and Use
- Order the matching straps and base plates for the job; a box of caps is not a complete starter kit.
- Use protective rubber feet for delicate surfaces and assess cap wear before reuse.
- The system helps manage lippage but does not guarantee a flat result regardless of substrate preparation or mortar coverage.
- Special base-plate fastening provisions for ceiling work belong to the full installation design; this cap is not a standalone overhead support.
