Description

MLT Bottom Plates

The MLT (Mechanical Lippage Tuning) system is the latest in tile leveling systems.

Ideal for large format tiles, the MLT system will help combat lippage found typically found on tile installations and give you a smooth surface regardless if you're a seasoned tile setter or a weekend warrior.

The MLT System is extremely versatile allowing you to mix and match components in order to accommodate the type, size and thickness of material you are using. The system also utilizes caps that can be used over 100 times and reusable straps making it more cost effective and environmentally friendly. The straps are standard and users have a choice between base plates that are ideal for natural stone, thin tiles, porcelain tiles and offset/plank bases.

You can also use the Steel Tongue Inserts to extend the life of your caps and add the rubber feet to prevent scratches on the tile surface.

MLT Accommodates tile sizes from 12" X 12" right up to stone and ceramic tile slabs of 3/4" in thickness and can accommodate grout joints from 1/64".

*Straps not included.

    Porcelain Tile

Easy to assemble with the MLT Reusable Straps. The straps have a key hole-type opening. The tabs on the plate insert into the larger opening on the strap and slide/snap into the smaller key hole opening.

    as described

The MLT system, performs as described. does not eliminate the need for a competent installer. It works as a Clamp to hold tiles together, so as your thinset bed cures, the tiles don't shift. It also performs well in fine tuning small lippage between tiles, as well as lining up slightly warped tiles. The Stonetooling team were helpful with my questions and got my purchased items to me fast.

    Stone offset plates

I think that would be a good base plate but you have to use at least ⅝ trowel. ½ is to thin. Now I have 500 bucks in base plates that's going to take forever to use. the end result is nice but it takes a long time to put these in. Also tabs pull threw bases 1 out of 40 not to bad. If u set gun on 2 they all break threw

    Ease of use and performance

The bottome plates for the MLT system are extremely easy to attatch to the straps and give excellent holding power when pressure is applied durning the adjustment phase. I found no problem using them at all and will again use the entire MLT system for the final adjustment to eleminate lippage.

    porcelain bottom plates

I found after a small learning curve, maybe 4 or 5 hrs that the plates worked and fit well under the tiles and stayed in position while continueing down the row. Just make sure you slide them under the tile and try not to sandwich the thinset between the bottom of the tile and the top of the plate.
